October arrived this week and that means fall has arrived. The style of my favorite NFL Sunday Kickoff crew is defiantly showing fall inspiration. Fall is my favorite season next to football season so I’m excited to share about what the commentators are sporting today. They all have stepped up their game and are looks you can wear/be inspired by for your fall wardrobe. I try to pick a best dressed each week, but they all look great.
Peter Schrager
I want to start with Peter Schrager because he stepped up his game sporting a pinstripe suit and I love it. Pinstripes are back and I love men who sport a pinstripe suit. Week after week, we see Peter Schrager wear solid blue suits and tie and this week he is sporting a pinstripe suit. But not just that, the cut of the pant is trimmer and more tailored. His pants the last couple week were wider. Plus, he did something to his hair and he looks great! Gentleman, if you have good suits in your closet but they are wide or older, have them tailored. Have the pants trimmed up. Not crazy tight but a slight trim and it will change the look just like what we see Peter wearing today. Also, a great way to freshen your look or even just look great, is do your hair. Get a haircut, use a little product and this simple change can freshen up your look. When I help clients dress and improve their look, it’s not just the neck down. It’s the neck up too and Peter Schrager’s hair and fit of his suit today is a great example of how you can evolve your look (slightly) by not buying a whole new wardrobe and simple tweaks that make a difference. Looking great today, Peter Schrager.
Michael Vick
I pick on Michael Vick’s style each week but I can’t today. I love what he’s wearing. The berry plaid suit looks awesome! The past couple weeks, Michael has worn lighter color suits and jackets and so happy he’s wearing darker more saturated colors today. I think he looks so much better in them. Sure, he could lose the lapel pin but I’m guessing he loves them or his stylist suggests it. It’s ok. I have been making this berry plaid jacket (just like Michael’s) for my clients for the last couple years and they all tell me they get tons of compliments when they wear it. It’s their favorite jacket. I’m so happy Michael is sporting this pattern today. The head-to-toe suit in the pattern maybe too much for the average guy, but gentleman, If you love jackets and want a new pattern this fall. Defiantly get this berry plaid one. It goes great with jeans or dress pants. Looking GQ, Michael Vick! Keep it up.
Julian Edelman
I love Julian Edelman’s 3-piece suit today. It shows up slightly blury on tv because the pattern is busy but it’s a great look. It’s a grey glen plaid which is traditional menswear and love that he has the matching vest. Julian’s style these past 5 weeks has been casual but yet he is suited up. He did that again today. Here is how you take a tailored suit and wear it casually. First, no tie. Leave the tie at home. He’s wearing a solid white shirt so not a patterned shirt which helps the look stay more casual. I mean that because if he wore a blue pattern shirt or any pattern shirt, it’s too much. It’s more of a business look. He has the suit get all the attention and no accessories and simple classic shirt. Not a polo or a sweater like he’s worn the last couple weeks. If you want to wear a suit casually, leave the tie at home, unbutton the top button, pick a white solid shirt and casual shoes – not totally shiny dress shoes. Julian looks great today!!
Charles Woodson
Charles loves to mix up his looks and have fun with it and today he did just that. He is a man who has style, wears bold pieces together and rocks it. You can take inspiration from Charles, no wait, you SHOULD take inspiration from Charles on how he mixes his pieces and just rocks it. I get asked a lot “should I wear something?”. My answer is always where are you going and who are you seeing but also, if you love it, wear it! Keep in mind, Charles probably has a closet full of jackets, shirts, pants, shoes, etc. It’s easy to rock a look like this when you have a closet full of tailored clothes and have collected them for years. Don’t go out today and just buy things because you want to dress like Charles Woodson. Slowly add good pieces and be thoughtful that they can be worn with other pieces in your wardrobe.
Clarissa Thompson
I love Clarissa’s suit today. I love her style this season. Classic, feminine, stylish and looks everyone can wear. Her pants are a wide leg and I can’t wear that, but, she rocks it. Every woman can look at Clarissa’s style and be inspired and take idea from it. She wear’s tailored clothing but it’s feminine and not a man’s suit. When I make my female client’s jackets and suits, I do the same. Sure, I have menswear fabrics if my female clients want to wear them – meaning like glen plaids and classic pinstripe suits. I also have fabrics more geared towards feminine style and not so board room. Just like Clarissa Thompson wears.
Excited to see what everyone is going to wear week 6!! Enjoy football today!!
