Men's Custom Dress Shirts In Phoenix
At Q. Contrary, Mary takes the time to understand your lifestyle, the way you want your shirt to fit, and what your wardrobe needs. She will guide you through every decision, from selecting the fabric and collar style to choosing cuffs, buttons, and finishing details, so the shirt works for the way you actually wear it.
Whether you are designing a dress shirt for the office, a wedding party, special occasion, or everyday wear, the process is simple, personal, and made easy from start to finish.
The result is a shirt made for your body, your wardrobe, and your life. Custom clothing isn't just an outfit. It is a long-term investment in quality, confidence, and personal style.
Fitting Process
Meet with Mary to discuss your lifestyle, upcoming occasions, personal style, and what you would like your custom clothing to accomplish.
Together, you will select the fabric, collar, cuffs, pockets, buttons, and other details that make the garment uniquely yours.
Mary takes precise measurements and evaluates your build, posture, and proportions to build a pattern just for you. You will also discuss how you prefer your clothing to fit and feel.
A pattern is created for your body and sent to our master makers, who begin constructing your garment with careful attention to structure and detail.
If needed, you will try on the unfinished garment so Mary can evaluate its fit, balance, and proportions. Any necessary adjustments are recorded before your final garment is completed.
At your final appointment, Mary reviews the finished garment, confirms the fit, and ensures every detail is exactly as intended.
Timeframe 5-7 weeks

"Mary has custom made both shirts and jackets for me. In addition, she has helped me find the right accessories to pull my look together. She carries amazing fabrics and patterns for both shirts and jackets, and her attention to detail is unsurpassed. Mary is professional and working with her is a pleasure. I asked her to speak to my executive team about dressing professionally. Her knowledge and insight helped inspire and guide them to dress in a more professional and polished manner at the office. I would highly recommend Mary."

Custom dress shirts are for any man who wants a shirt that actually fits, in fabrics and details he has chosen himself. Our clients include professionals who wear a dress shirt every day, grooms and groomsmen looking for something coordinated and elevated for a wedding, men with a build that is difficult to fit off the rack (broad chest, longer arms, athletic taper, big and tall), and clients who simply appreciate the difference a well-made shirt makes.
It's helpful to bring the jacket or accessories you'd typically wear with the shirt, so we can see how it fits into your full look.
We offer a curated selection of premium cottons and fabrics suited to different occasions, from everyday wear to more formal settings. Our most popular fabric mills for dress shirts are Thomas Mason and Loro Piana. Mary will guide you through the options during your design appointment.
Yes. Monogramming is available as a personal, understated detail, and can be added to the cuff.
Most custom shirts are ready in five to seven weeks from your appointment. Wedding party orders and larger shirt programs should be scheduled earlier, so please book at least eight to ten weeks before your event date.
Bring a dress shirt you already own that you love the fit of, or one that fits poorly in a specific way you want us to correct. If the shirts are for a specific suit, sport coat, or occasion, bring or share photos of those pieces too. Most of all, come with an idea of how you plan to wear the shirt so we can guide fabric weight, collar style, and cuff choice accordingly.
I have been fortunate to work with high-profile clients, and I remain committed to protecting the integrity of their privacy.

During fittings, the photos I need to collaborate with my tailors are always taken from the shoulders down to prevent identification, and unless you provide me with your explicit consent, I will not share any photos for promotional reasons.
