How the Greyson Clothiers Koko Hoodie Fits

How the Greyson Clothiers Koko Hoodie Fits
Every brand has its own fit and we all know it is a struggle finding the right size to fit you. Let me help. Greyson Clothiers is a brand in particular that is all over the place when it comes to how their clothes fit. Their golf polos run big, so you normally go down a size. Their Montauk pants and shorts run small and they have a short rise, so many clients go up a size (especially if you have thighs or a butt). What about their sweaters? I carry some of their sweaters and let me help walk you through how the Koko Hoodie sweater fits. I’ve measured the sizes in my shop and created a size chart. Best bet is for you to grab your favorite medium knit/gauge sweater and compare the measurements.

Let’s review how to measure:

CHEST:

Lay your sweater flat and take a tape measure from arm pit to arm pit. Keep in mind this measurement needs to be doubled because you are only measuring half the chest. The chest measurement in my chart (and your body) goes all the way around – front and back – so double the measurement you have for half. In the photo, I’m measuring the size small and that is 19.5” so that times 2 equals 39” (what you find in the chart).

BOTTOM OPENING:

Lay your sweater flat and take a tape measure on the bottom 1x1 rib hem of the sweater and measure from end to end (across the bottom of the sweater – as in photo). Like the chest measurement, we need to double it. If the sweater you are measuring does not have a 1x1 rib hem, then do not pay attention to this measurement.

BACK LENGTH:

Lay your sweater flat and place the sweater so you see the back neckline. We want to measure the sweater from the back (not from the front). Measure from the neck seam straight down to the bottom of the sweater. This is the back length. We do not double this measurement like we did the chest and bottom opening measurements.

SLEEVE LENGTH:

Lay your sweater flat with the sleeve laying straight out (flat). Measure from the seam at the top of the armhole straight down to the bottom of the cuff. This is the sleeve length. Because the armhole seam can fall at different places on different sweaters, this measurement is only crucial if you are tall and can’t find sweaters long enough for you. You want this measurement because if it’s not long enough for you, you won’t like the sweater. Most men do not have issues with sleeve lengths (with sweaters). This sweater from Greyson Clothiers does tend to be on the longer side compared to other brands. If you are shorter, the sleeves maybe too long and you may not like this sweater. This is my experience working with shorter men. But keep in mind everything in life doesn’t need to fit perfectly and this sweater is meant to be cozy and comfortable. We do not double this measurement (like we did the chest and bottom opening measurement).

CUFF OPENING:

I have added the cuff opening. I haven’t had a client be particular about this measurement. It is a 1x1 rib knit but adding if needed. Lay the sweater sleeve flat. Take the tape measure at the bottom of the cuff opening and double that measurement. That is the cuff opening measurement. Here is a breakdown of the Maltese Blue Koko Sweater I measured in my shop (January 2025). Let me know if you have any questions. I apologize, I sold my 2XL because I could measure it. If I get one, I will update the chart.
